Land intensification done right…

A recent example of a typical development for intensive farming operation, converting existing orchard into well drained land suitable for more intense use.
Stage 1: Orchard Removal and Chip
Our orchard removal team uprooted all the existing orchard trees and ground them to mulch. This included salvaging most of the posts for reuse. All the wood chip is recycled, turned into compost at the local compost plant.
Stage 2: Site Survey
Establishing land levels with Trimble site survey equipment. Our GPS land survey equipment takes a highly accurate snapshot of how the land lies, prior to any further works being undertaken.
Stage 3: Deep Ripping
Because the land was an orchard for so long it is vital to deep rip. Our dozer ripper assemblies sink deep into the ground to loosen up the strata beneath, introducing oxygen and enabling strong future plant growth and health. Under normal circumstances, we encourage to rip as deep as 900mm. This ensures any pan layers are disrupted, allowing water to drain.
Stage 4: Sub-Surface Drainage Installation
Using our original site survey in conjunction with proposed contour levels, our inhouse teams designed and installed intense and optimal sub-surface drainage for the block for it’s future use.
Stage 5: GPS Land Levelling
Using the original site survey we could establish what was required to ensure optimal slopes and falls on the paddock to reduce ponding, crop loss and problem areas. Using Optisurface in conjunction with Trimble GPS controlled land leveller, we moved the earth to establish required levels.
Stage 6: Site Prep
Digging out pads for future infrastructure. These will be filled with our own blended aggregates to form a stable base for planned infrastructure.
Stage 7: Ground Work
We then arranged required ground work to bring to clients specification.
